Splashscreen Challenge
From fmepedia
As you've probably noticed the folks at Safe have great fun creating the splash screens that appear when you start FME.
So that brings us to the challenge...
Challenge: The challenge is to create a splashscreen of your own design for FME.
You may want to stick with our current themes of bananas or lizards - or maybe try something new. It's up to you. Since it's now December, maybe try a Christmas theme? The image size should match the FME one of 439x330.
The more inquisitive among you will want to know - "can I replace the current splashscreen with my own?" and the answer is... well, I did it without any ill effect (note that isn't the same as an outright yes - but I can't see what problems it could cause). Simply unzip the contents of any of the attached zip files to <FME Install Dir>/Res
But you don't need to do this for this challenge. Simply create your own splashscreen, email it to fmepedia@safe.com and we'll upload them to fmepedia for everyone to enjoy.

Example
OK - as an example, here's a splashscreen that I don't think will ever be used. Pity really...
FME2007-ICE
Here's a new version of FME from Mark Ireland; FME2007-ICE has a suitably Canadian feel (brrrr, it's cold here).
FME Man
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's FME Man, battling the arch-villain donut polygon. Thanks to SRG for this one.
FME ROX
FME ROX? It sure does. This is another SRG splashscreen.
Saint Banana
Greetings from Saint Banana who will guide you on your journey into interoperability nirvana. The final entry in SRG's triumvirate of splashscreens.
FME Warriors
More still from SRG - this one shows the FME Warriors of GIS Interoperability
FME 2007-ICE2
As a salute to SRG - this one from Mark is a special Chennai cultural edition of FME.
FME 2007-ICE3
What's the other big cultural part of Chennai. According to Wikipedia (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:M._A._Chidambaram_Stadium_Challenger_Trophy_2006.jpg) it's Cricket!.
FME Beaver
Will SRG ever stop? Here he pays homage to a great Canadian cultural icon - the Beaver.
FME Mart
What's the store where can you find all your interoperability needs? FME-mart of course!
Safe Santa
Another SRG effort. The Safe Santa knows which of you users has been naughty this year.
FME 7 Wonders
SRG's latest effort. FME as one of the seven wonders of the world.
FME Ralphie Edition
Another Mark effort. You have to have seen A Christmas Story (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_story) to get the joke. I like to call this one the FME 2007 Ralphie Edition. Not available to users - you'll only clip your eye out!
The Power of FME
Here's one from Safe's in-house graphic designer, Jara. The Power of FME is in Safe hands!
Child's Play
More SRG. FME really is child's play.
FME is Easy
And more SRG. With FME, interoperability is no longer a Herculean task... (or even a Sisyphean (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sisyphean) one, which is more what the screen suggests).
