The distance between any two points on a sphere is known as the great circle distance or Orthodrome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthodrome). Did you know that the shortest path from from Vancouver to Nairobi (Kenya) goes through Berlin? Yes, it does, however, looking at a regular map it's hard to believe, and this shows how careful we should be making conclusions about real sizes and distances on our planet.

OrthodromeReplacer replaces lines connecting two points with orthodromes, which represent the shortest path between the line beginning and its end. Note, that this transformer cannot be used for measuring shortest distances, there is no such projection where any two points could be connected with a straight line, which also would be an orthodrome. Use SphericalDistanceCalculator instead.
